Rufous Whistler comes back to Selby Folk Club to launch brand new single "You Lead This One". This is the rich, experimental folk and alt-country project of Vinny Russell. Following a #2 ARIA Country Chart debut in 2025 and 100+ shows across Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand, Rufous Whistler enters a new chapter in 2026 with single "You Lead This One", preceding an album and more road miles in early 2027. Honest, funny and deeply human, these are songs about connection, change and trying to make sense of the mess in between.

Supporting Rufous Whistler on the night will be the wonderful Wood Duck, a four piece who bring their distinctive voice and love of traditional music to deliver spirited tunes and a richly textured sound.

Last time we had a full house for these bands, so grab those tickets now! If still available, tickets will be sold on the door. Doors still open at 7.30 with the music from 8pm.

The big change for 2026 is that we have a temporary venue change to Menzies Creek Hall. Which is just 5 mins up the road from Selby Community House, with plenty of parking.

With this change we will not providing supper, so feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks to enjoy!
